AC or DC rolling motor — which one should you choose?
AC shutter motors run directly on electricity. They have 300kg to 4000kg, so they are suitable for many types of rolling doors. In Ascendant, we're able to do 110V/220V/380V/415V AC roller door motors. From small garage roller doors to large factory metal doors, all can choose AC motors.
DC motors are different. They come with a control box and backup battery. When there is power, the battery charges automatically. If the power goes out, the motor can still operate. Another advantage of DC motors is that they generate less heat during operation. So they usually run quieter and longer. But currently, DC motors only have 300kg to 1000kg. Only these small weight rolling shutters can use it. For areas that has unstable power and places like stores can choose DC motors because no matter in what situation, you can open the door.
